Random Sharp chest pains?

I've had sharp stabbing pains in my chest.. (left side, near my left armpit above where a pocket would be on a shirt) that caused a panic attack on nov. 10th... after that it was chronic, maybe around 5-6 sharp stabs a day.. eventually it dwindled down to none... then i got a bad ear infection (My first ear infection actually) for about a week and a half.. 3 days after that, the sharp chest pains came back. I've been to a doctor and they said "we dont know, go to the ER" when it's not really an emergency, and i dont have the money..

Ive looked into the varying factors such as food intake, medicine vitamin intake etc and nothing seems to be... relating at all... Except that I feel very cold when it happens, and if i am very warm and comfortable, it doesnt seem to happen when i am warm..

It seems to be worse when i am alone or thinking about it.. But it will still happen if im completly ingrossed in a movie or something else..

I'm a female, 22, overweight.. I never get sick, not even colds.. this is so rare and frustrating for me..

I am so sorry your having problems.  I know what it feels like to not be able to afford health care as my own personal health bills are enormous.  But you need to have this checked out.  If they say its nothing, well great.  Not money wasted to make sure your in good health.  If your having panic attacks, they can cause all kinds of other symptoms.  You may be having some depression as well that causes aches and pains all over.  I am not speaking as a nurse, but as a patient.  I use to not "buy" into all the panic attacks and depression symptoms - until God showed me they were real.  I don't understand why your doctor said go to ER.  Unless they wanted a cardio work up.  Just go and you will at least have peace of mind.  Ask your hospital if they have charity forms you can sign up for.  Not sure if you would qualify, but would be worth a try if you cannot afford healthcare.  And don't feel guilty about it.  Thats what its there for.  I do hope you get to feeling better soon and have a wonderful Christmas.

Indeed, buuut~ it helps to get an idea, of what it may be and/or may NOT be, seeing as how most doctors where I live are like "lol, i dont know, go to the ER"

i can go "well i think it may be ________, but definately is not _________"

anyway, ive seen all of those before, except for "pleurisy" which i looked up, and i actually identified with that a few years ago, but not this particular time, seeing as how it doesnt get worse when i breathe, laugh, or cough.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Stabbing chest pains can be due to angina, gastric reflux, pericarditis, pleurisy, or due to costochondritis. This needs to be investigated. Please do not ignore. This cannot be diagnosed on net. Take care!
