It also can be many other things like microclots. Is your heart rhythm normal? Cardiologist could check it in 24 hour ecg, if deemed plausible suspect. Conclusion: get it tested, lumbar tap may be one of the last things to test, but in some cases really useful, especially for infections; don't worry, most likely it is not dangerous but still very scary for you.
