I have been suffering for about 10 years with severe swollen legs that gets so painful with petechiae, that can get so red it looks like I have been burned. At first many years ago I was diagnosed with Sjogrens disease. I have extreme pain that hospitalized me. I had some of the symptoms, dry mouth, eyes, also thyroidism. I was diagnosed by a long time rheumatologist with lupus, for with I was treated with steroids and methotrexate. Neither really helped. Now they have me taking Rituxan infusions. I recently was told by a medical student (This is what I deal with my insurance), that I do not have lupus. He said this as if I was a liar, I did not self diagnose, it was what I was told, and was in my records. He said that my blood tests do not show that I have this. This is awful for me, because it took a long time suffering to diagnose the lupus, and was a relief at least to know what it was. And what about all the steroids, and medicine, chemo I took, if this is wrong?
