Lung collapse question

I have had a chest xray and ct scan with contast to try and find out why I am having pain over my left kidney and left ribcage.  I was told by my doctor that the tests showed I had small "bubbles" or areas of lung collapse in the lower lobes of both lungs.  I have no cough or wheeze and have not had a cold or serious cough in over 8 years.  What could this be?  I am a type 1 diabetic and have been for 32 years, I have fibromyalgia, arthritis with joint replacements and I am 39 years old.

"Bubbles" or the lung is tired of trying to balance out the body that it is also ill. This illness is the lung's reflective result to cure fibromyalgia, arthritis, and immune system's reaction to the implant. It normally will disappear, but beware of fibromyalgia's effect on the lungs. I suggest cure your fibromyalgia with Velocrovital (found in watermelon's shell--if all drugs fail).

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Well, actually I partially agree with you. If there is a bubble—this would mean that there is an air leak from either lung or gut and in both the cases this would mean that you will either have respiratory symptoms of cough, wheezing, chest pain, breathlessness etc or have gut symptoms like acidity, cramps, gas etc. Since you have pain, gut and lung causes need to be ruled out. The other possibility is that the bubble was an artifact or a defect that occurred while taking the film.
Since you have pain on left side, it can be due to acidity, gastric reflux, hiatal hernia, pleuritis (inflammation of covering of lung) or pericarditis (inflammation of covering of heart). IBS, Crohn’s, chronic constipation, spleen problems like bleeding, cyst, abscess etc can also cause pain under left ribs.
Hence discuss all these possibilities with your doctor. Take care!
