Unexplained weakness in ankle??

2 months ago I started noticing a problem with my right ankle. When I would not have sneakers on my ankle felt a little weak but I ignored and kept pushing it off (no health ins) Fast forward 2 months I can barely put any weight on it, I jump out of the shower so I can put sneakers on (even in well fitted sneakers I'm noticing it's not helping) I can't stand on it too long I get some pain here and there but it's really the weakness and not feeling stable. I don't wear heels at all only sneakers and timberland boots. I can move it fine maybe it's a little stiff. When I stand on it it kinda feels like I'm standing on jelly like the top of my foot is not lined up with the bottom of my foot. I sprained my ankle over 10 years ago and have not had any injuries since. Has anyone had this happen to them or know what it could be?

You should ask your doctor for an xray. Perhaps it didn't heal correctly or you are developing tendon issues or arthritis. Best wishes.

Thank you for your reply I'm going to wrap it and try to get to a doctor. Trying to find affordable ins but it's not easy.

You should first wrap your ankle if you have not already done so, to give it a little more stability. Then you should setup an appointment and go see a podiatrist. If need be try and find a free clinic or go to the ER. If you can barely put any weight on it get it checked out before any permanent damage is done.
