Upper right arm pain

For the last couple months I've had pain in my upper arm. It started as a burning pain and the doctor said it was bruise on my bone (or something along those lines) from when I fell while roller blading. This was a few months ago and now the pain seems to have changed from a burning throb to a sharping pain. It used to cause me trouble whenever I tried to carry something in that arm or when I would lay on that arm in my sleep; now it seems random, I could be laying on my bed reading and it'll start to hurt. The pain ranges from mild to moderate and I really doubt the arm is broken. What is going on? Is this still because of the bruise?
The pain is above my elbow where I landed.

It's already been around 3-4mos though. I haven't tried taking supplements though...my doctor just said it would heal on it's own

A sprain can be worse than a broken bone.  It takes longer than 6 weeks for a sprain/bruised bone to heal.
I suggest you ask your doctor if  he would suggest some supplements you can take to help the bones heal.
MSM, Calcium and D3 come to mind.
