Some possibilities, though obviously I can't know from here -- it's anxiety is one possibility, where you feel something is there but nothing actually is. It can be a really minor anxiety problem, but it's still an anxious reaction because you just expect that thing that was there to still be there even though it isn't. Now, this assumes, based on nothing much coming out, that there isn't anything there, it just feels like there is. The brain is a weird thing sometimes. I used to have something like this when I was a kid where I spent a while constantly clearing my throat. I do have allergies, but I didn't have to do that. At some point, as mysteriously as I started feeling the need to do it I lost the need to do it. I get it now again from time to time, but again, I do have allergies. It doesn't take much excess mucous to feel like something is there when it's in the throat, it's an automatic response I think because of where it feels clogged. A second possibility is that you actually do have allergies. A third is that you didn't have a cold but something more than that and it never completely went away. Seeing a doctor might help eliminate the possibility it really is something, and if that happens, you're left with having developed a habit that only working on your mind can make go away.
