Hey geordiechick,
Adrenal fatigue, mineral imbalance/deficiency, nutritional deficiencies, and
yeast imbalance, are likely culprits.
His 4 pints of lager a night are contributing to dehydration, as the beer interferes with the production of anti-diuretic hormone.
Loss of electrolytes, craving salt, hypoglycaemia are all effects of alcohol consumption.
Candida (yeast infection)is a possibility as well. Improper diet, alcohol consumption, stress, all contribute to yeast imbalance.
If Candida gets out of control, Candidiasis -a systemic yeast infection-
is the next stage and the formation of mycotoxins, Tartaric acid (a muscle
toxin).
One of the main causes of Leaky Gut Syndrome is Candida.
Smoking inhibits oxygen in the blood, slowing down the entire body, including the mind, causing fatigue and loss of energy.
(Loss of energy is one of non-genetic underlying true causes of Disease.)
Smoking also interferes with blood sugar levels, causing bouts of hypoglycaemia.
Difficulty swallowing (dysphagia)
This requires medical attention immediately!
Smoking 20 cigarettes a day and consuming 4 pints of beer nightly, may increase his risk of esophageal cancer. Quitting smoking and restricting alcohol intake to light or moderate amounts may reduce this risk.
Craving salty foods may have to do with already consuming too many salty foods. It has an addictive type of effect.
But more likely, it is may be linked to the diuretic effects of beer consumption, as I mentioned earlier.
Hope this helps.
Cheers!
Niko
