Agree with redstar. But then going to specific connection, Amyloidisis is a condition with deposition of the amyloid material in the nerves leading to small fibre neuropathy. This is accompanied in somecases with skin tags.
The rarity and lack of knowledge of this association is responsible for not conducting special stains for amyloid.
