Sounds like you are having a hard time. Do you want to talk about it? I'm sorry you are going through all this. I agree you may need anti-depressants. It helps lift you up some. There is always a way out of things even if you can't see it right now. I would get a counselor to talk things over. They can help you find ways of dealing with your problems. Don't put yourself down. Anxiety can have a root cause. let me know if you want to talk about it.

Sorry to hear that you feel so down.

I strongly suggest that you make an appointment to see your doctor.  It seems to me that you are suffering from depression rather than anxiety issues.

I have read your notes where you are struggling with any motivation to get out of bed and this is very typical of depression.

To rule out any blood disorders like anaemia, the doctor can take a blood test to check for this.  Anaemia will make you feel very tired and low too.

The doctor may decided to prescribe antidepressants and also refer for counselling.  There are different forms of counselling available and a counsellor is trained and getting you to open up about the unresolved issues that may be the cause of how you are feeling right now.  Cognitive Behavioural Therapy may be the type of counselling that would suit you, but your doctor will decide which form of counselling you should be referred to.

There are also different types of antidepressants available and it will also take a few weeks for you to be on them before you notice any improvement.

Going outside for short walks or getting in touch with friends and family will also help you to feel better.  Although when we feel in low moods like you are going through at the moment, we do not want to do anything or go out and be with people.  But in fact if you can make the effort to go out or engage your mind on something that you have an interest in or do anything, you will be surprised how better you will begin to feel.

It will not be easy and it can take a long time, but with help, you will get through this.  Don't give up.  You are young and have a lot to learn and discover yet.

Best wishes.

Well I didn't go back after I didn't have anxiety again. I guess it would have been good to see the changes. But I was improving over time there. You can see the improvement on the monitor and the tech shows you her results too.
It is great that is why I tell people about it. I have been on Xanax and that was a terrible drug. It made me feel very bad and it didn't help the anxiety. I think anxiety drugs are not as good as biofeedback. At least I had a really good experience. Integrative medicine doctors give you more time too and are open minded. They gave me a really good meditation CD too.  Good luck I hope you can do it too. Now even after the main anxiety is gone. When I get stressed or over anxious some days I remember to start breathing that way and it calms me down.
take care,

Thanks, the test seems like a great thing to have. Lucky you've had it. Will see of my doc can arrange something, but mostly he's happy with the situation - even though I feel the dizziness I getting. Out of hand, so won't get any more tests done.  I've been practicing breathing at time of feeling rough and been listening to hypo noses CDs to work on that. Did you getter test on your healthcare???

Your explanation was great to hear. Thanks again, much appreciated!!!!

Yes, with biofeedback for me they had a computer and they hooked my pulse/heart rate and rhythm I think it was and a pulse oximeter which shows your oxygen usage to the computer. The technician who had a Ph.D. was really good. She could tell that my "flight or fight response was higher than the normal by the way I breathed. So by watching the computer monitor peaks and valleys at a certain rate I breathed to that rhythm to get my flight or fight and thus anxiety down. She gave me a CD at the end which I loaded into a MP3 player and I practiced  twice a day for 10 minutes on the breathing speed.

You are supposed to breath in with your stomach raising not the lungs and at a certain speed. After a couple of months my anxiety just disappeared. It was amazing. I tried accupunture for my chronic back pain and it didn't work well for me. It did twice out of 12 or 15 times. But this worked well you just have to practice. Hope this make sense.

Also, meditation by listening to relaxation methods was good too. Sorry you are going through a lot at school. It does get better. Try not to let the fools rub you the wrong way or Ignoramus carborundum.

Mkh9 - thanks, you're response is really helpful and appreciated. I see  an acupuncturists and am taking some herbal medicine and following some advice, which is my last resort now. Fingers crossed it  will be okay, the spells are so sudden. Please can you explain what biofeedback is Briefly - new term?

There's been lots of pressure with high school so maybe that's what's causing it... Im all really unsure at the moment even my therapist is trying to find out why. Those positive affirmations are a great suggestion though, as I do struggle to see the positives. Thanks again for responses and personal experience in dealing with it guys.

I'm really sorry you have anxiety all the time. Have you tried biofeedback? It really helped me a lot. Some people need medication for it. But I tried medication and it made me sick. I got my anxiety from chronic back pain. The biofeedback was amazing. What makes you so sad? Have you had a lot of bad things happen? Try to look forward instead of the past and maybe get some conseling. But they taught me to write down the little things that are positive affirmations. It helps over time. Like "I saw a pretty flower" or My husband or child loves me or gave me a hug or some thing like that. I know it sounds silly but the brain takes in the positive things over time and eventually you feel better. I don't know what has happened to you in your life. It is tough no doubt. Certainly you can talk about it. There is always hope even though you can't see it. What has happened?

I would see an integrative medicine doctor if you have one in your area. They have natural medicines and biofeedback. I also would talk to a counselor to find out the root cause of your anxiety. For me I had chronic back pain and got anxiety and they helped me a lot. They show you how to do the biofeedback. It is best to get a recording before you leave to listen to and practice every day and the anxiety for me went away after a couple of months. It is great breathing exercises. You may be able to find a program on line. But, it would help to have a counselor too.
