blood pressure worries could anxiety be causing it

I came back from an international trip about ten days ago and on the way back probably caught a bug that resulted in sore throat and a visit to the doctors. My blood pressure at the doctor’s came back 125/73, which according to my normal BP readings is high….a doctor’s visit five months ago, it was 112/68 and I know it has been that range before that as well. The recent number got me worried and since then I’ve made several trips (sometimes more than one in a day) to the local pharmacy to check my blood pressure…..it consistently comes back in the 130s/70s. I am overly worried now. Could this spike be caused by the sinus congestion or could this mean I’m pre hypertension. Also could my worrying and checking the BP over and over again be causing it to spike?
I’m more than paranoid about my heart health and this is definitely causing me to worry too much. Someone’s reassurance would truly help.
I am a 41 year old female and not overweight

Worrying about your blood pressure is giving you blood pressure.

Your blood pressure reading like other posters have said was normal at the doctors office.

If you had said my blood pressure was 150/90 I would have said yes that is a bit high for a women of 40. My blood pressure when I found out I had it high was 215/115 now thats high lol....oh and that was over 10 years ago. It was caused by anxiety and stress at work. Now it is normal again well for me anyway at 135/75 over an average of 24 hours.

Thats the thing with blood pressure. IF you take it before you have emptied your bladder it will be higher then when you have emptied your bladder any extra work your body has to cope with raises it slightly.....

So to get a true blood pressure reading you would have to take it every hour over a 24 hour period then do an AVERAGE reading, then you will get your true blood pressure reading.

Blood pressure goes up and down like a yogo. YOu are obsessing over it and will do more harm to yourself.

Just eat sensibly, exercise sensibly and stop worrying about it.

Yes like KINGJOHN said I would have been blessed to have that blood pressure lol. Big hugs. STOP WORRYING.xx

Your blood pressure is very very good. Normal BP is 120/80 thats considered normal. I believe your over reacting to anxiety. My normal BP is 135/85 and thats considered normal to a degree. Anxiety causes a range of physical and mental symptoms and blood pressure spike is certainly one. As well as pulse rate and tight chest. But you can always go to a cardialogist for assurance. Id be blest to have BP like you :)
