Brief, throbbing headaches?

I'm a teenage female and keep getting these strange headaches. They last for only a few seconds - very brief. The back-right part of my head will throb and ache for a little bit, and then the pain will go away. It could potentially be from hunger or eye-strain, as I'm susceptible to both, but I read somewhere that eye-strain was a frontal, bilateral pain and that's certainly not what my headaches are... I really am not sure.

Hi,

Just want to let you guys know that I figured out my headaches were a result of both hunger and stress. They've gone away now and everything is alright.

Thanks for your help!

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
You could be having ‘benign intracranial hypertension’ (BIH). This happens due to impaired CSF absorption. A generalized throbbing headache worst felt in the morning and last thing at night. This headache is generally relieved on standing (consistent with raised intracranial pressure). It is aggravated by straining, coughing or a change in position. Sinusitis is another cause of throbbing headaches. It could also be cluster headache, migraine, or tension headache. Sometimes migraines do not have triggers. High BP could also be a cause. Please consult a neurologist. Hope this helps. Do let me know if there is any thing else and keep me posted. Take care!
