pain

My husband has experienced sharp, severe pain in his lower abdomen, on the left side and today he had pain in his left testicle.  It lasted about 5 minutes and went away, but felt the same as the pain in the left lower abdomen.  Could this be testicle cancer, bladder cancer etc??  Hernia?  No lumps or swelling.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
The commonest cause of pain in left lower abdomen that is also felt in testis is kidney stones. This pain comes and goes as the stone moves. The other possibility is an inflammatory bowel condition like IBS or diverticulitis. If your husband has bowel issues, then this should be looked into. Otherwise an ultrasound or CT scan or abdomen will be required to detect the stone. Also a urine exam would need to be done. Please consult an urologist or even your PP to start with.
Hope this helps. Take care!

Severe pain in left lower abdomen can be of different reasons.Pain patterns shows that is present in abdomen at some time and then shifts to left testicle,so it needs attention of a doc who gives you a general abdominal physical examination.
Lower abdomen pain that doesnot subside in no time has to be certainly referred to a doc.It can be due to abdominal distention, irritable bowel syndrome, pancreatitis, inguinal hernia, kidney stones,or just anxiety that caused pain in testicle as your husband was a bit nervous with his pain in abdomen.
Request-Im not to threaten you with all of these scary medical terms but abdominal pain in all of these cases must be associated with other symptoms like nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, long lasting pain, blood in stools and lot more.So observe every change with as the doc would certainly ask about all of these issues other than abdominal pain.
