Hello all, pls help
a dear one is suffering from persistent fever for 2 months now.
fever is about 38 Celsius. we have done the following tests: liver functions, lung xrays, kidney functions, lymph, malaria and urine tests. all seem OK.
the only thing out of order is low white cell count.

can anyone advise? has anyone seen such phenomena - tropical desises - anything?

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Recurrent or chronic fever is seen in typhoid, tuberculosis, hepatitis, SLE, rheumatoid arthritis, Polyarteritis nodosa (PAN) and other auto immune disorders, UTI, drug fever, sinusitis, glandular fever, otitis media, IBS, HIV, STDs, endocarditis, parasitic infestations (like malaria), fungal infections, lymphomas and other cancers etc. It can even be diabetes and hyperthyroidism.
Since I cannot examine you and know other related conditions you may be having, nor is a detailed history possible on net, I have listed the various possibilities that should be looked into. Some have been tested, for others please consult your PCP.
Take care!
