Severe all over joint and body pain

PLEASE HELP ME..I read a lot of these posts and with certain things I can relate but others I can't...I had spine surgery when I was 30 years old and I'm 43 now. The surgery was a success and I had some pain still but nothing I couldn't cope with on my own. I haven't had any issues with pain until February of 2013 when my lower back started hurting again. I was getting stiff and it hurt to bend down and over and also was very hard for me to be getting out of chair and bed. It felt exactly like it did back before my spinal surgery and it was getting worse so I figured that I needed another MRI but was in the middle of moving so I decided to wait. I then was starting to have problems shopping for long periods of time and was needing to rest my back more often. Things started to change and I would get up during the night to get a drink of water and when I started walking my feet were actually hurting with each step. I finally moved and when I got out here things got a lot worse and it happened pretty fast. All the basic things that people do everyday became so painful for me. I am in so much agony every second of the day. All my joints hurt and my bones that I actually thought I had bone cancer. I'm in severe pain no matter what I do. I stand, sit or even lye down. The strange thing is that most of the complaints here involve headaches and neck aches and abdominal pain (stomach pain) which I don't have at all. From my neck up, I feel fine and no pains in my stomach area. Every time I move in any way, I'm in agony. I go to reach over to pick up my bottle of water from the table and my elbow hurts me so bad. Getting dressed also hurts so much. When I sleep at night I can't move or roll over without the pain taking my breath away. It hurts all over my body but it doesn't feel like my skin hurts. Just all inside my body hurts. I get up to walk now and my husband hears me saying "ouch ouch ouch ouch" with each step. I can't handle being in agony 24/7. I can't do anything any more like shopping or going out to dinner. I can't leave my house. This is so crazy. I found a doctor out here and he ordered an MRI on my spine but tests came back that my spine was fine and all they could see was the old surgery but there is arthritis in my back now which was expected. When I received those results all I did was cry all day long. I was hoping it was my spine so they could do surgery and I would be out of this pain. I'm being sent to a spine specialist and my doctor is hoping to come up with a plan. He did put me on oxycodone 10/325 every 6 hours but this isn't even touching my pain. Not even taking the edge off. I seriously can't handle being in this much agony and I have been searching for answers but I haven't found anything yet. All my joints hurt...toes, ankles, knees, hips and my whole back. All my bones hurt too and the tops and bottoms of my feet. The night before last I had a new kind of pain. I have never felt this pain before and it's very hard to explain but I was woken up by (the best way I can describe it) a very quick sting in my calf and it bursted into a firework (like those really big ones) it was very painful and I kept getting them so I had no choice but to take a pain pill and I went back to sleep after they stopped just to be woke back up to them going off in both calves and woke up about every hour all night long with the painful fireworks making their way up to my hips. The next morning they were gone and It's been a few days and so far they haven't returned. I drink a lot of water and watch what I eat but there is something more to this. I can't just sit here and cry every day from all the pain and give up living my life either but what else can I do? Just to put my hair up is too much for my wrists and fingers and elbows to take. I'm in constant pain and I really hope that someone reads this and can help me in some way, maybe have answers for me. I need some relief somehow and someway. (I suffer from restless body syndrome but found something to ease that)

My best friend has lupus. She wants me to tell anyone that may be getting a diagnosis with Lupus that most of the diagnosis's are bogus. She went to the best Rheumatologist in the country (Beverly Hills Doctor) and they based her diagnosis on a biopsy of her skin rash on her face. He works with the stars and so forth. Her ANA, anti DNA etc. were negative all the other tests were negative. She was still put on Plaquinil for years and later high dose accutaine.  The plaquinil made her blind. She says they were monitoring her retina and still she became blind from the drug. Years later she has been in remission . She was told she had systemic lupus with no other tests being positive. She was never positive for any other tests except that initial biopsy. Well, she finally dumped the drugs and she never felt better. She went to a dermatologist and all she has is rosacea. Apparently the biopsy for rosacea is identical to lupus and so you really can't tell the difference. I read that Lupus is the #1 misdiagnosed disease and that it is really a combination of diseases. So, I would be very careful accepting a diagnosis of Lupus. There is a double stranded DNA test and anti DNA  if you are positive for the dsDNA test which only positive in about 30% or so of people then you may have lupus. The anti DNA can be positive in a small percent as I recall too. The ANA is positive in a lot of different diseases. lyme patients are often misdiagnosed as lupus. So I just wanted to step in here and caution you and anyone reading here to take a second look at what the diagnosis is. Speaking of lyme have you been tested for that? A lot of lyme patients don't know they have been bitten by a tick.  If you decide to get tested the only test that is sensitive enough is one by IgeneX and I would go to a Lyme literate doctor or LLMD. You can find one in your area. If interested I'll look for the website.
take care,

I am so sorry that you are in so much pain.  The description reminds me of Lupus.  My daughter has Lupus and has the all over body pain and weakness in her hands and arms from it as well.  It can only be diagnosed by a Rheumatologist.  She also has a connective tissue disease caused by the Lupus.

I sincerely hope you don't have Lupus, but I think you need to see a Rheumy to determine that.

    Wishing you the best

Hi,
So heres the story, I don't know about your back and I'm very sorry that you have had so much pain and problems. So about 6 weeks ago my wrists became swollen and sore and then my ankles, knees, shoulders, neck, toes and every joint you can think of became stiff, sore and swollen. I've been tested for rheumatoid arthritis but it came back negative, maybe you should get your doctor to do some general blood tests and ask him to test for some viruses like Ross river(if you have been near a river or mosquitoes lately) or ask your doctor if there are viruses you should be aware of. Another thing you should think about is Hydrotherapy, which helps you muscles to tone up and support your joints if they are weak. I hope this helps you and make sure to keep your head up! xx

May God Bless you and your pains fade away one fine morning. You can keep the meds on and meanwhile you can try out a serious regime that I recommended. Suitable Yoga postures and a set of Pranayam should be helpful for you.

In a sentence, "Prana" means the "AIR" we breathe and "Ayam" meaning controlling the dimensions (Prana+Ayama=Pranayam) which regulates the breath and the oxygen circulation thru the blood thus making the oxygen avaialble amply to ensure removal of toxins present everywhere in the body and repairing the metabolism. This not only influences the lungs but entire bowel and chest deeply implementing rejuvination of all the connected glands and their secretions and correcting the absorptions to the mitochondrial levels.
This in totality must fetch the body a greater resistance first and the power to heal from the root levels.
For more info you can search the books amply available on this by various experts including Non-Indians (Mostly Europeans) and try to know whats in treasure for  you. The thing I must say is: This is not an overnight process and should be adopted as a lifestyle to get you to your destination.

Hope you will be a newborn again no matter what you follow. You are brave and keep the struggle on, don't give up.

Best and cheer up...! :)

Thank you very much for your reply. I have had people talk about Yoga and I am interested in that. I have heard of Pranayam but I'm not sure what it is yet but I'm very open minded to just about anything. I have opened my mind to things that other people look down on and freak out when you tell them about it and there is nothing bad about it but everyone has there own opinion. I am going to try these things. I believe that things go beyond medical science. "Think outside the box" type of thing lol. What you have experienced is crazy but I'm happy that you were able to cure yourself with no medications. I do have other problems that I do take medications for and have for so many years. I had a tragedy some years back that will be with me for the rest of my life and have tried so many different things but I haven't tried these things and maybe it will help with this too. The pain I deal with every minute of the day was too much for me to handle so I called my Doctor back again and in tears I begged him to please help me and that I was willing to try anything so he changed my pain meds from Oxycod/Acetamino 10-325mg TB 1 tablet every 6 hours which didn't even take the edge off to Oxycodone HCL 30mg TB which I had little hope that it would help this pain but I took 1 yesterday and I was shocked, that little tiny pill actually took all my pain away except when i'm sitting down and I stand up at first. I do have pain and stiffness in my body but I take a few steps and straighten up right away with no pain. It's amazing and it works. Now I know this isn't the answer and I still have my Spine Doctor I see on the 17th of this month but it has relieved my pain until they can find what's causing all of this. In the meantime I will try these things you suggested. Thanks again for all your help

Hi Mistique..
Please check this out once:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCDGw_NKKD0

I have a strong faith that it should help you as well, as this therapy has successfully cured most and most of the illnesses of people from many walks. I have seen the patients witnessing their illnesses have vanished after the practice of these Yoga. Please note that this therapy isn't just doing some physical postures, but an approach that has to do with really mistique inner parts of the body which the medical science has yet to explore and discover.
These videos of Baba Ramdev are in Hindi and I dont know if you follow these if you do not know this language, you can as well take someone's help.
Any suffering isn't just a physical thing, but the psych and the confidence we create inside which will in turn start reversing the processes.

My personal experience with this is.. I had developed a Glucose intolerance recently due to shabby lifestyles and sleeplessness(though I'm not a diabetic) where my BG was exceeding 250 fasting to 350 PPBS.

With the Yoga & Pranayam therapy my numbers are 150 fasting and 240 PPBS in just 1 month without any medications.

Cheer Up.. :)

Wishing you all the very best

Believe it or not, I haven't done any research on that and I don't know why but I will now look into it and maybe it's the answer I'm looking for. God I hope. My doctor told me he did see some arthritis in my lower back from my spinal surgery I had years ago but all my joints hurt so bad. Thank you for your reply

I don't have much knowledge on any of that but I do have an open mind. I will look into it and see how I go about it. Thank you for your reply

Thank you for your reply. I have started out with my primary care doctor because I thought the pain was being caused by an old injury to my spine. I was in a car accident back when I was 30 years old and I'm 43 now. I was told that after you have discs removed and steel cages placed in and fused that later on down the road it could weaken your other discs but the MRI showed that my spine is good. No I don't have muscle weakness that I can tell but when I do reach for my water bottle my wrists and elbows hurt so bad that I'm barely able to lift it? I called my doctor and asked that he put me on something different but I haven't heard back yet. Thank you very much

Hello Mistique.. I have all the sympathy for your condition. I couldn't read all you have written. Would like to check if these things work for you. Let me put it in Indian spiritual style vocabulary. Most of the problems have to do with contaminated chakras within our body (eight chakras from Mooladhar to Sahasrar) . Yoga and Pranayam have proven to be miraculous in correcting and restoring the deep causes of illness like these. You can give it a try by exploring the relevant content which I feel has no harm trying it out, but it should take atleast 9 months of time for a slower process of restoration within the body root causes.
One of my friend suffering from ankylosing spondylitis with terrible pains in the back and lower ribs is practicing Yoga & Pranayam past many years and is doing really good without much pain killing medications. His bending has infact improved. All you might require is a proper medical attention and time and mind to practice Yoga & Pranayam.

Praying for your speedier recovery.

I am so sorry about all the pain you have. It sounds terrible. I wonder if you have an autoimmune disease? Maybe you should get tested. Also, it sounds like it may be neurologic (at least the part where you say it feels like fireworks going off).  I would try two doctors a neurologist and a rheumatologist. You don't feel week do you, such as muscle weakness? If it is neurological the pain killers might be the wrong type. So, trying lyrica or something that affects the nerves might help.
