What have the doctors said it might be if not viral?  Have they checked your thyroid yet?  If they haven't it might be a good idea to check TSH, FT3, FT4, and antibodies (TPO & TSI).  It could be a thyroiditis.  Just my two cents...  Hope you feel better soon.

You do not get sneezing or a snotty runny nose with influenza.

As your symptoms started 3 weeks ago and you are still concerned, I presume that you still have the problem.

If you are now better, then there is nothing to worry about what this was.  No test will be able to show what it was if your immunity system has got rid of it.  But there are some diseases that can lie dormant and can flare up like Lymes Disease that need to be detected by the right type of blood test.

If you are still unwell, you need to see a doctor and get a blood test taken to check for Lymes Disease if you have been in an outdoor area that is likely to have ticks.  They are present in the undergrowth where sheep, deer and wildlife roam.  If you recall getting a bite or walking in woodland or outdoor grassy areas you may have been bitten and this could have resulted in your symptoms.

Make an appointment with your doctor to check you out for a bacterial infection, as you may now need an antibiotic.

Ensure that you have plenty of warm soothing drinks but avoid milk products whilst you are unwell.

Hope that you are on the mend.
