Hello Doctor
Many thanks for your reply. Yes I have done the culture and sensitivity test. What the test has mentioned in the urine microscopic exam is that Bacteria : 2 + and Pus Cells : 2 to 3/HPF and Epithelial Cells 2 to 3/HPF. Casts, Crystals, Amorphous---Absent.
But in MICROBIOLOGICAL CULTURE AND ANTIBIOTIC SENSITIVITY
Pus Cells: ....---...../HPF
Bacteria: ...Few....
CULTURE STUDY
No Organism Isolated
I am confused as to why does the test show bacteria and yet they haven't isolated it in the culture study. I have sugar in check 83 mg fasting sugar and 110 after food intake. Also my Creatine is in check with 0.89 mg. The only thing which is abnormal is Lymphocytes being 39 % and WBC being 7600 cells.
Please let me know your views and suggestions doctor!
Warm Regards
Bella

Hi,
It appears that you have bacterial cystitis. This can be inferred from the presence of the bacteria in the urinalysis. However, you have not mentioned whether you also had a urine culture sensitivity done. A culture sensitivity is done to identify which antibiotics the bacteria infecting you is sensitive to and is most effective in treating it.
It is possible that the antibiotics you are on are those that the infective organism is resistant to.
You will have to have a culture sensitivity done to identify the organism and the antibiotics it is sensitive to.
Infection symptoms should start subsiding withing 24 hours and may take as long as 48 hours if the organism is responsive to the antibiotic.
Though the etiology of IC has not been conclusively established, it has been reported that longstanding bladder infections increase the incidence of IC.
You can also increase fluid intake to over 2000 ml and add citrus fruits and juices to your diet while avoiding caffeine and alcohol to help the infection clear up.
Do keep us posted on your doubts and progress.
