I am a 63 yr old female. At age 28 I had a traumatic emergency forceps delivery of my son. Afterwards I was catheterized. 24 hours later, removal of the catheter was attempted by several nurses, all of whom failed. Consequently, a urologist was called in who used a needle to pop the balloon and remove the catheter. For many months I was in constant pain and experienced UTIs off and on. For the past year, UTIs have been chronic, and even when there is no infection I will intermittently have painful urination that shoots down my legs. Could I have nerve damage or scarring from the catheter debacle so long ago?
Thanks for your time and consideration
