I have joined this community, truly feeling desperate. For more than 2 years, I have been unable to sleep more than an hour before I am interrupted by my bladder - strong urge, spasm and discomfort - so severe, I am awakened. This began when I purchased a new home and in retrospect overdid it physically and multiple injuries have been found in my spinal cord. None of these injuries are I the area known to control bladder function however. I have spent a small fortune getting the house inspected for any toxins, allergens, molds, etc. it is truly pristine. I have also visited 17 different health care practitioners including alternative health. I have had a sacral neuromodulation device surgically implanted and had a few weeks of 2-3 hour increment sleep during the trial device period, thus insurance and doc approved the permanent implant. Since getting the permanent implant, daytime is great (my bowel movements are even incredibly regular for the first time in my life - sorry for graphic detail), but when I lie down at night, the nightmare begins. I regulate my liquid intake, I eat very healthfully, I keep regular hours, alcohol almost never, I am normal and healthy weight, no smoker, not diabetic. I am a TBI survivor, but it was 11 years prior ago and though it had been severe at the time, I had regained full functioning and my life was thriving until 2 years ago. This has gone on so long, my work life is affected as I am so exhausted all the time; my personal relationships are 'nil because I am on edge and cognitively not the person I used to be. My life is not my own. Has anyone experienced anything like this ? Any guidance?
