Sorry, it has just gotten into my brain that you are asking, by the title of your post, whether you have a urinary infection.

With a urinary infection, you would be having frequent urges to urinate.  Sometimes you may experience discomfort when urinating.  You may experience pain in the lower belly or on either or both sides of your body as well as the back just below the rib cage - those are symptoms of kidney infection.  A bladder infection could make your penis sore due to the acidic urine.  Make sure you drink plenty of water.  Don't that that because you are going a lot to empty your bladder that you have to drink less.  This is not so.

When you have your appointment with the doctor, take a morning mid stream urine sample with you.  The doctor's surgery will provide you with a sterilized urine specimen bottle for you to do your sample in.

The morning sample is the strongest.  To do a mid stream sample, pee a little into the toilet, then pee into the bottle and finish off peeing into the toilet.

The doctor can do a urine dip stick test at the appointment to see if you do have a urinary infection.  If there is any indication of an infection, he may prescribe you with an antibiotic that treats urinary infections.  He may also send the urine sample off the laboratory for analysis to identify the bacteria causing your symptoms.  If the antibiotic prescribed is found not to be the right one to treat you, your surgery will get in touch with you when they get the results from the laboratory that will also inform the surgery which antibiotic will treat the bacteria you have.  If you need the different antibiotic to the one the doctor originally prescribed, they will get in touch with you and let you know that you have a new prescription ready for you.

If you haven't seen your doctor and had a swab to identify the fungus, then do so.

Although the fir morning mid stream urine sample is the better one, the laboratory would still be able to pick up any bacteria in the urine.

You can purchase Canesten antifungal cream from the chemist, without a prescription and you can also purchase without a prescription Fluconazole 100mg or the 200mg single dose antifungal capsule.  Because it is unclear that your problem is caused by fungus, a swab sent to the laboratory for analysis would be a good idea.

As a home remedy you can apply natural set yogurt to your washed and gently dried genitals.  There are no side effects and you can use it for as long as you want to.  It will feel cold to apply.  Also ensure you eat a healthy and well balanced diet and incorporate natural yogurt into your diet.

If you urine is smelly, this can sometimes be because of an infection, can be due to some times of foods and if it is a darkish colour at the same time, will more than likely be because you are not drinking enough water.  About 2 litres a day is usually recommended, but don't drink it all in one go.  If you do work outs and sweat a lot, you may need to drink more and milk or juice to replenish lost electrolytes through sweating.

If you have not seen your own doctor, I suggest that you still book in to see him, even though the last few urine samples have come back normal.

Thank you for your reply Jemma.
I have already had 2 urine tests now and they were both negative but they weren't morning mid streams. So I assume it is a fungal/backterial thing? The odour seems to be urine though!

Best Regards

Make an appointment to see your doctor.

It is likely that the STI screening was not looking for anything other than STIs.

You still may have a bacterial or fungal infection, so do and see your doctor.  He is likely to arrange for a swab to be taken from that area and sent to the laboratory for analysis.  He may already know when he examines you what the problem is and be able to prescribe an antibiotic if he feels it is caused by bacteria, or an antifungal medication either cream and or capsules to take by mouth as well if you have a fungal infection.

Do not use any soaps, shower or bath gels.  This will aggravate the condition more.  Do draw back the foreskin (if you still have that) and wash well with water.

The types of soap you can use are those that have no perfume, ones that have the same pH level as our skin and baby washes may be fine.#

Do not wear manmade pants, these will make you sweat and encourage yeast growth.  Wear clean cotton pants every day.  If you use condoms, use the latex free ones as you may have an allergy to latex.

Do bear in mind that even though you are negative now for STIs, you could still get infected and can still get fungal infections, even when engaging in oral sex.

Make sure that you have good hygiene - always wash your hands before touch your penis and always wash your hands after using the toilet.  Never touch your penis with dirty hands.  After sex, wash yourself as soon as possible.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Let me know how you get on at the doctors.
