Washing an Reusing Catheters

Does anyone out there have to wash and reuse catheters?  I intermittent cath up to 7 times a day and have to wash and reuse my caths because insurance only covers 30 a month.  I know Medicare just changed its stance on this issue to give up to 200 caths a month!!  I have private insurance, so I don't get the same coverage.  Anyone else have this issue?

I too wash and reuse catheters. Be sure to use antibacterial soap. My Dr assures me this is safe.

I am able to get 180 catheters from my insurance company . I feel very fortunate not having to wash and reuse because I used to have to do that (a real pain). Maybe you can get your doctor to write a prescription for more catheters?Good luck!
