penis injury

I am 25 years old and i have had some problems with my penis for the past three months. I have been to see my doctor who sent me to see a urologist who said i have strained a ligament on the right side of my penis. i have been told to rest it and take regular anti inflamitries. its coming to 4 months now and it still seems to be the same with the shooting pains and a nitting feeling on my right side of my penis. could i do anything else to speed up the recovery process as i feel like i am going around in circles and it is putting a strain on my relationship.  Your help would be very much appreciated. cheers

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
I agree with your doctor that it can be due to a strained ligament. He has prescribed the right medicines in the form of anti inflammatory drugs. Also apply warm compresses and avoid sex and masturbation till you are completely fine. If there is any redness and tenderness then infection is an important possibility. Nerve irritation can also cause pain or numbness.

I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
