Hello dr,
Why I asked this question is ..........recently in my dept, i got an instruction to report protein in urine as trace even if the protein strip shows 'Nil'..... and urine microscopy shows even 10-12 pus cells........
now i want to know whether it is true ...... in all mild urinary infections renal involvement is there?...........or proteinuria occurs......
i hav done heat and acetic acid method to confirm it..........but didnt find anything............please help...........

She is undergoing medication . Till date her Protein waste in Urine is fluctuating from nil to 4+. She is taking the kidpred steroid. can any one give more information about this.

Proetinuria or proteins in urine can happen due to renal causes or other causes like infections, sarcoidosis, multiple myeloma, and SLE. I suggest you to get an evaluation done from a urologist.
