Hi,
A lump over the scar of surgery or in the vicinity could be indicative of a hypertrophic scar or granuloma. Hence, my suggestion to have an evaluation conducted by a urologist to rule out these two possibilities and the other possibility of a hernia.
If by "anything serious" you were wondering about cancer, that presents as a painless tumor usually and is felt as a hard lump. It may feel tender or have no pain sensation related to it in the early stages.
Any lump arising from the testes will need evaluation via ultrasound to rule out possibility of testicular cancer. The ultrasound will help differentiate the contents of the lump and will help decide further course of action.
regards,
thank you for your reply yes i totally agree and know it is not a recurrent torsion because i would be in severe pain which i can only remember to well from being a youngster my query was reagarding if you thought there was any other abnormalities may be there
many thanks
Hi,
A dull pain is not usually indicative of torsion.
Testicular torsion presents with intense pain and is associated with localized swelling and discoloration, in addition to systemic symptoms, such as nausea and vomiting.
Depending on the approach used to correct the torsion, you will need to have a hernia ruled out in the case of the lump.
Pain in left lower abdomen could be due to conditions of the GI tract or referred pain from any inflammation within the testis.
Schedule an appointment with your urologist and also have an ultrasound done. Testicular torsion is an emergency condition and has optimal results when treated within 6 hours from the onset of symptoms.
Avoidance of strenuous physical activity, sitting in a hot bath for 10-15 min, scrotal elevation, and rest can all provide pain relief and aid healing.
Do keep us posted on your doubts and progress.
