Any Suggestions?

Well, i had my gynae appointment on tuesday and they couldnt help me with my problem....ever since i got recurring uti's back in november 07 til august 08, my vagina and urethra have not been right. my urethra gets uncomfortable peeing sometimes and when i have sex i can feel it and its uncomfortable and also makes it harder to penetrate...even with a finger...also, after sex i burn and sometimes swell which seem more to do with my vagina than urethra. i may try to see a urologist next but im afraid of not getting any help like at my gynae appointment, so could anyone suggest what it might be? or sounds like?

I dont think its interstitial cystitis cause i dont get the typical bladder pain etc, all i can think of is all gynae related problems but as for urology problems im stuck.

Thank you both for your comments. I will let you know once i see someone else but that might be a while! doctor appointments are like gold at my gp.

Doctornee medical: ive had swabs taken twice now for thrush, chlamidya and ghonorrea and only the first time came back with thrush, second time was clear. i had a urine sample tested at my appointment and that was clear too.

I was a bit dissapointed that they didnt want to investigate further; because they hadnt come across something like this before they told me there was noting more to be done on the gynae side of things.....it may be more urology but it seems its all connected.

Well thanks again...oh and do you think if it is a urethral stricture could it heal itself? i wondered if not having sex for a good few weeks might help but im not sure.

Hi,

This sounds like a uretheral stricture or some stenosis.

This will need the attention of a urologist and he would be able to dilate the stricture too.

Hope this helped. Let me know if you need any further help.
Best regards

Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
Well you could be having both UTI and vaginal infection or vaginitis. A tight vaginal wall, sores at the mouth of vagina or vestibulitis, vulvodynia or a dry vagina can all cause pain and burning on penetration. You can discuss these possibilities with your gynecologist. A PAP smear and a STD panel must be done too.
Hope this helps. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
