urine smells like cow barn

I have very strong strange smelling urine that embarrasses me when I use a public restroom because the smell lingers afterwards . I'm not sure what it smells like , I liken it to a cow barn . My husband even makes comments if he uses the bathroom after me . I am a 70 yr. old active female and have no other symptoms . It smells 9 out f 10 times . I drink water often . It happened several years ago and lasted quite a long time then one day it was gone and now is back again ,  This has been going on for months .

I have a catheter and my urine the past few days has smelled real awful like a horse barn.  I have to change the cath bag every day.  Just recently finished two strong antibiotics for UTI and diverticulitis.  What is going on?

I'm a sixty three year old male. I have had the same problem, on and off, for about 10 years. I told my doctor at the time about it. He just told me to drink more water, which did not help. The odor has the smell of a one hundred year old batch of eggs. I wish I could give you an answer on this. Please let me know should you find out what's causing yours. Thanks, Richard
