I was recently diagnosed with my level being at a 4. I have terrible neck pain (among other issues) and the neck pain is also in the front and on the sides. The pain feels more like severe muscle tightness. The pain is near unbearable. I've been through all kinds of therapies and shots to try and help with the pain. I'm kind of hoping that this is the answer and I'll start to feel better once my level start to rise.
The pain always gets worse with severe weather. My neck muscles become extremely inflamed when a storm rolls in. I also get muscle cramps when its really damp outside. Does anybody else experience this?
I am taking 4000 IU of vit D3 daily. Helps with depression. Also I started taking chelated magnesium caps twice day. That has stopped my panic attacks & anxiety. I started watching "Your Health With Dr Richard and Cindy Becker". Dr. Becker explains how being depleted in nutrients can cause a lot of havic with the body. I feel like I'm back in school again, learning how the body functions and what nutrients are important. So far, I can say I feel a great difference.
I would double check the amount with an endocrinologist. 1000 seems a bit low.
I have recently been diagnosed with low vitamin d at 34 nmol/l (13ng?)
My symptoms were and still are strong pains in left breast and lower back as well as recently shoulder and neck, complete exhaustion feeling like have weights on legs with everything I do being so exhausting compared to how I used to be (very energetic) anxious but I think that partly because didn't know what was going on, loss of appetite and loss in interest of many thinks including running my business just wanted to sleep (today has been a better day) I also have a hard lump on left side neck half way down from ear that have had for a number of months, currently waiting for ultra sound to see what it is
When I went to the dr's they tried to pass of my symptoms as anxiety or stress related that was until my vitamin d results came back
Can't understand why I have it as out in sun lots, always walking everywhere and on a pretty good diet. Have been told to take 1000iu per day, not sure it that is enough but dr knows best :-/ so will plod along and see what happens
Its so nice to at least to speak to others that are going through the same thing that can understand and won't judge
yep thats the way I feel and I just started the vitamin d 50,000 units.........do you also have osteoporosis? Did they ever check your parathyroid?
I have severe Vit D deficiency. I have numerous health problems and some of the pains and symptoms overlap. When I saw my Rheumotologist in Aug. '07, I was aching all over, very fatigued and not sleeping well even on Ambien. He checked my Vit. D level and it did not register on the chart. He immediately started me on Vit D 50,000 units twice per week for 8 weeks. When he rechecked my level in Oct. '07, it was in the normal range. He instructed me to take OTC Vit. D 1,000 units per day, which I have been doing. I also each cheese and drink milk daily. However, by mid-Nov. I was in pain again, increasing daily. At that time I attributed it to being very busy, we were in the process of moving to a new house. By Christmas I couldn't walk without my feet, knees and hips hurting tremendously. I kept putting off calling my doctor, with the business of the holidays. Afterall I already had my next appointment set for the end of January. Finally last weekend I couldn't take the pain any longer, called Monday and saw him Thursday (yesterday). He feels with the bone pain, muscle pain and weakness, inability to sleep and overall fatigue and brain "fuzziness", my Vit D level has dropped again, even with me on 1,ooo units daily. I'll know Monday.
I have a Vit. D deficiency. The symptoms for me were pain in my bones and muscles and having trouble sleeping because of the pain. I also found my muscles becoming weaker. The biggest thing though was the pain and trouble getting comfortable at night. I bought several mattress thinking it was the bed!
