EXERCISE IDEAS PLEASE!

Hello
I have troublesome feet which means its not good for me to perform hgh impact exercise on them and i also suffer with an irritated nerve in my neck caued by repetitive strain which means i have to be careful doing any form of exercise which may aggravate it.(swimming caused it so cant do that!)
However, over the last year i have gained a stone because i have not done any structured exercise and am now keen to lose the weight.I used to do regular sessions of aerobics but am nervous about doing these in case i aggravate the above!
Does anyone have any suggestions of some regular exercise that i can do which is effective but wont cause me any more jip?! I have thought about pilates - is this any good?

Pilates (and yoga) is great, although you might want to start slow to see how it impacts your neck.  Another thing to consider is recumbent exercise biking.  Because you are seating with a back support, you're less likely to experience neck strain.  It's low impact, and will get your heart rate up and burn some calories.
