i am 23. i have been to doctors loads within the past few months, ive had blood tests in case was diabetic. also have had smears and pap tests done and all come back fine, i have been told my nurse that i have cervical erosion due to being on pill for few years, i am now off the pill and have been for year nearly now.
i am concerned about it as its becoming more of a nusiance specially as me and my partner  would like to have baby and have been trying but this kind of puts things off..
i will get appointment again with doctor and hope will find what is causing the brown discharge for week or so before period and why periods are becoming later too .

will keep you all posted

Hi there.  I would set up a time to see your doctor.  Your hormones could be out of whack.  Sometimes when a woman doesn't make enough progesterone they will spot like this.  But that should be confirmed with your doctor.

Hypothyroidism is something that can also cause this especially since you mention a delay in your periods/longer cycles.

so, I'd really encourage you to see your doctor and get a complete work up to determine what is going on.  peace

I don't know your age, but I know from friends that as they got older their periods have been earlier some months than others and last longer and are more painful, When I use to have periods I sometimes would have brown discharge before or after my periods. I have stage 4 endometriosis and that may have been the reason why, also when I had ovarian cysts this would happen but it would last months of brown discharge without stopping. I am not saying that this is what's wrong, if you have a cyst you will be in a lot of pain. I think you should see you doctor about this as I can see you are concerned and of course you are when you don't know what's going on. Go to your doc and he/she will most likely send you for a scan , its the only way you'll know for sure. There are so many different reasons this can occur it could be something simple. Good luck and keep us posted.

Hi there and welcome.  Brown blood can be a number of things including old blood or also spotting from hormonal issues.  Any chance you could be pregnant?

Hi, Brown discharge can occur after a period and it is just old blood and is natures way of cleaning the body of dead cells and tissue. A week and a half however could require a doctors visit just to make sure every thing is okay and to put your mind at rest.
