Abnormal Vaginal Odor...

I am 21 years old, I am still a virgin and have never had any kind of sexual activity with a man. I do masturbate with toys and hands, but I was before and after each use. I feel that I have a vaginal odor, that does not go away. I shower atleast once a day sometimes twice. I never douche. I do not have any kind of thick or colorful disharge. I do have a clear discharge (which I think is normal), i feel as if my underwear is always wet, but I'm not aroused, I have this odor. It is not fishy, it smells kinda like chlorine mixed with something else. I went to the gyno this year and they did a papsmear and it was normal, as well as had an internal ultrasound (I occassianally get ovarian cysts). I am not sure if this is normal. I have a relatively good diet, lots of leafy greens and fruit juices. I rarely eat red meat, I don't smoke and rarely if at all drink. I am not sure what is going on. Has anyone experienced anything like this? I'm kinda self conscious about this.

Hi,
From what you describe, it sounds like a natural odor.  Every body has their own natural, unique odor.  If it's not fishy smelling or really foul, I would say there's nothing really wrong.  Now if you happen to smell it several times during the day through your clothes just going every day normal activities, then maybe it would be abnormal, but it sounds like you eat right,  take good care of yourself, so again, I would say it's normal from everything else you describe.

Go to a gyno and take a smear. pap test might be clear but that doesnt mean you have no infection.. If it comes back and you have an infection then that might be the problem.if it comes out negative then dont worry too much  and try taking probiotics for a month and try put some natural yogurt at the area..

Thanks for posting. I take baths and shower. I shower twice a day, and when I do bathe, the problem is still there. Also I try to not take too many soapy baths I used to get bladder infections alot that way.

Im not really sure if guys are supposed to be in this group but here I am. I cant believe nobody told you to just take a bath. the warm soapy water will help take care of your problem and prevent any infections. good luck. Do this mainly after your monthly cycle.

Thank you for replying. I feel as if I can smell it through my clothes. I am not really sure what it could be. Maybe I am just over smelling myself and freaking out over it. I do wear only cotton panties, and I try to not sleep with underwear on to kinda let it breathe at night (I heard that it was good to do this). I am not sure if this is worth bringing up to my gyno.

you are perfectly fine BUT.........

ensure that you were ONLY COTTON panties.

do not douche!!!!

after each menses ..... sit over a sterilized bucket with very warm salted water. wrap a large towel around your waist.  enough to cover you and the bucket while sitting down. do this for atleast three days.  this will help to "dry up" any remains left inside as also unwanted discharges resulting from the cessation of your period.
