Bleeding post pregnancy

Hi I am three months post pregnancy . After I gave birth , I had bleeding for 7 weeks , then it taper offer.  I definitely ovulated ( i can tell ) then followed by a period ( very heavy first couple of days ) that lasted about 6 days .  I had intercourse  a two days later , that night I started bleeding again, heavy enough to wear a maxi pad.  It has been day two of bleeding and I'm wondering could this possibly be another period or the contiunation of my first period ?  Is this normal for post pregnancy , until your body is getting back in order?

I am breastfeeding but only 2oz a day :(

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
It takes 2-3 cycles for the menstrual periods to settle down. If the repeat happens then get post coital bleeding ruled out.
It is most commonly seen in vaginal infection like Chlamydia, gonorrhea, vaginal inflammation etc. it could also be due to disease of endometrium that is lining of uterus, polyps (mass) in uterus and cervix, fibroid tumors etc. You should consult an expert nearby for internal examinations.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
