I'm one million percent sure that I'm not pregnant (I'm currently on the fourth day of my period). I noticed tonight that my nipples look darker though and all the search engines came up with was I must be pregnant. But I know I'm not, so why are my nipples darker than usual? Are there anything wrong with me or is it normal for a woman's nipples to darker as they get older? Or something? I'm just worried something may be wrong with me. Is this normal? Oh btw I'm 21, don't know if that matters.
First of all it can be due to hormonal changes. Progesterone and estrogen cause the body to produce more pigment. This is why many women see an even change, splotches and patches of darkened skin all over their body. Other causes of darkened areolas in women can be due to pregnancy, aging, menstruation and medications. It can be due to menstruation in your case.
