I have the Copper one I've July 2013 this year some of the symptoms have gone away but I still have spotting and my weight is up and down, and I'm always bloated any advice?
I have had my IUD in for 2 years. The day I they put it in I was throwing up all night and for 2 years now I get a bad migrane and nausea and usually at least once a month I vomit because of my IUD. It makes me so sick I hate it but I put up with the side effects because it prevents a pregnancy. Also my periods were regular until lately I haven't ended my period it's been going non stop for almost 3 weeks now I'm going to the Doc to see if there is any hope of getting past the side effects if not I'm gonna go from the 10 year IUD to the 5 I heard that one is better.
i don't have the paragaurd but i do have mirena. i've had it for going on 4 months and my symptoms are starting to disappear. i haven't had a heavy period for almost 4 weeks now...i do still have the spotting. no cramps, no weight gain, no problems.
have you thought about switching? if paragaurd is the same side affects as the mirena my ob did tell me that the symptoms can last up to 1 year. have you talked to your ob?
same with me...i've had it for 8 months already...the first 3 months or so i had no bleeding and was ok, but after that i've been bleeding since and dont know when my real period is..really sux cant wait to take it out!...
About 10 years ago I had an IUD put in and had horrible problems. In fact after just about 30 days I went in to have it removed and the dr couldn't find it. So she put me in the hospital to see what was going on and the stupid thing had worked its way out of my uterus(however you spell it) and lodged in the tissue on the left side. It was horrible. My dr had to call in a surgen and they had to go in an remove it. Since you have had yours a year I don't think that could possible be the problem but don't take any chances!!!
Alli, I'm in the same boat. Complaint by complaint. The only difference is that I have only had mine in for 4 months. I can't stand it. I always feel bloated, I feel I've gained weight (why I don't know) and my blood pressure is slightly elevated again too. Anyway, I'm headed to my doctor for another assessment but I think I'm going to get it taken out by October. I'm ready to start a family with my husband and I need a healthy uterus to achieve that. Rest assured you are not alone.
