Hymenoplasty...

I just read up about this surgical procedure and am just wondering, if you were to decide to go ahead and have this done, how would pap smears and stuff work?
I mean, wouldn't they break off the hymen after having it being rebuilt up again? Or if you undergo hymenoplasty, you don't have to go for pap smears again until you next have sex?

Cheers!!

First of all, having a hymen does not mean you're a virgin. There are people with hymens still in tact after having all types of sex, piv / penetrative sex included.
Second, if you're relaxed enough, or if your hymen has a certain shape, it will stay in tact during a pap smear.

Yes ppl please read the story first. WE all know that she is a little crazy for tryingt o be a virginagian. its no big deal. ive been one all my life and im 23. so dont  go crazy. but here is a little info on paps and beinga virgin Yes virgins gets paps....How do i know.....Because i am a virgin and i get one yearly. My doctor just said its the principle of the things.  Paps dont just check for HIV or STD and things of that nature. You can also check for endometriosis.  Look of things are happing with how females bodies develop. So virigns can get paps and they get them all the time. its all in who your doctor is.

I dont know where you've been, but most women dont get pap smears until they become sexually active, or until they need to get one done for various reasons (sevear bleeding, unexplainable pain, etc). This girl above isnt a virgin, she just wants surgery to make her one again, so unless you fully read what the situation is about, it's better off that you dont get all crazy.
Read before you reply.
Thank you.

OH my god virgins don't get paps??? Where are you people getting your information? Pap smears are not only for people who have sex!! Every woman needs to have them after they start having their periods. Pap smears help detect mulitiple problems that have nothing to do with having sex. Please go have a pap smear after you start your period the first time, virgin or not! It's very important.

(to the person above me) you don't need to have a pap smear right after you first start your period. Every gyno will tell you that your first pap smear should be when you're 18 or the first time you're sexually active, whichever comes first. BUT they ARE important!!!!!

No, you don't need a pap smear until you're over 18 or sexually active, whichever comes first. And many doctors would say you don't need a pap smear until you're sexually active anyway, since it only screens for cervical cancer, which is caused by HPV (a STD).

They say that you need to get a pap done after you've started having sex. Virgins dont get them done unless something sevear is going on.
In your case, you wouldnt be a virgin, just pretending to be one. You should have a pap done before the surgery to test for ANYTHING and EVERYTHING because there are STD's out there and different cancers that like to hide.
Get biopsys done even if there might not be anything there, because you never know...
You wouldnt be a very good 'virgin' if you happen to have something and went undetected.
Know what I mean.....

OOoo ouch! Ive seen those done on tv and it looks painful!

Can I ask how much it costs? Interesting tho!

Arent pap smears done every year? Ive only ever had one smear test in my life but they advice every year if its the same one I thinking of.

The best thing may be to have it done before the surgery. Im only guessing as I havent had one myself! :-P
