I'M DILATED!!!!!!!!

I went to the doctors today, and I'm dilated to 1 cm!!!! It could be hours, it could be days... Gosh, she's going to be here soon, I can't wait.
I gotta do the laundry, clean the house, clean out the fridge, wash the tub, pack my bag...
It's funny, here I am about to have a baby and I feel spunky as ever... I've gained 25lbs total and I feel great.. hehe, I've worn my bikini a few times to the pool... to my amazement, it still fits perfectly. Where did the 25 pounds go? Just my belly or what?
Oh my gosh, this is such a beautiful day!!! Holding her in my arms will be the greatest thing I could ever ask for...
I'm feeling slight contractions, so we'll see how long it will take!

you will make a great mom. I just wanted you to know that you have greatly matured in the last 9 months. I remember when you first started posting and you've come a long way.

When I first came on I was stressed out beyone belief and when you're that scared and upset it can bring out immaturity.. I'll be a great mom, this little girl has been the apple of my eye since I the night the stick turned blue.. I even pictured her a girl before I knew for sure.
I feel horrible that I even considered an abortion, I knew deep down that I would never ever, ever have one... but I guess it took alot of converstaions with myself and other people to figure out why.
I knew for a fact that I wouldnt do it, but I couldnt help looking at the options and seeing how the decisions would affect me.
It still dosnt seem real... Her bassinet is in our room and it's filled with stuffed animals, it feels like it's make believe, like, 'wow, a real baby is going to fill that space"... So strange. Things are going alot better, the boyfriend has stoped drinking and getting treatment and taking anger management classes. It went to an extreme for him to finally get sober, but hey, if that's what it takes....
He wants to quit, it just took some force.
Anyway,  My mind is going bonkers right now... Reality hasnt set in, so I'm gonna go eat a steak.... :-D

Oh shoot, that's what I need! I need to get nursing bras!
... I'll just get a sleeping bra for now because I have NO CLUE what my size is going to be when they fill with milk. They havnt grown at all so far, so I wonder if I'll even reach a 34c. ??
I'm getting very impatient, I can't wait till I start going into labor. I'm not scared of the pain, I guess I'll just take it moment by moment, and then it will all be gone and then the days become weeks, weeks become months, and those months become years and those few hours of dramatic pain will pay off. :-D
I still have to get my nails and toes done and finish cleaning the house and doing my laundry so maybe it's a good thing that she's taking her sweet time. :-)

It will be so exciting bringing her home.. It's so hard picturing myself as a mom, it seems almost unreal, but I know it's happening.. Strange feeling....

I hope you go in soon and have that baby!  I bet you're as miserable as I am, huh?  No, I don't have everything packed, I just now got the nursery complete, so that was a big check off my to do list.  I have some things packed, but I still need to get a good nursing bra and get the baby's diaper bag set.  It's a lot of pressure, but I'm hoping the doc will tell me Monday that we need to get this baby out.  He's rolling and hiccuping all the time, and my Braxton Hicks are getting more intense and frequent.  I don't look forward to bedtime anymore since I only sleep in 1 hour intervals.  I think that's why the doc is wanting to go ahead with the birth, that and the higher blood pressure.  I'm so excited for you, if you have the baby anytime in the next week, please post it on here and describe your experience so the rest of us can get an idea of what it's like!

I was 2 days with my first baby.  Dilation happens faster with
the first baby.  Did your OB tell you how effaced you are?

true story first babys usually go over term about 80% my ob told me alot of mums even have to get induced at 42 weeks after being dialated and having contractions for weeks cause there stubborn babys are keepin cosey with my first i was dialated 2 cms at 36 weeks lots of contractions even my ob thought i was going to go early then i was induced on my due date due to low fetal activity im sorry to dampen your spirits you may still be pregnant in 2 weeks time if your going to go natural all the way but you might just be one of these lucky first time mums that do have there babys on time.
i am currently dialated 2 cms and am just over 37 weeks i am getting induced on monday the 12 of june so wish us both luck in the race to see who will give birth first keep us posted and remember dont be scared its a great experience i am doing it for the second time in just under a year good luck.

Not necessarily : ) You can be dilated and go well passed your due date, only like 10 or 20% are born on their due date. I can't count how many friends I have had who dilated to 1, even up to 3 cm at 37-38 weeks and ended up delivering a week or more past their EDD.

Start walking, have sex, those are the safest ways to help things along. Don't get too disappointed if Cady decides to wait a week or longer to make her appearance.

... I'm actually due on Saturday, so she will more than likely come in a few days. Her name is Cadence Rose.. and I'm very satisfied with her middle name now that it's officially June, since it is a June flower. :-) If she came in May it wouldn't be as cool.
My 21st birthday is on Sunday, it would be so neat if we shared that day. :-D
OOOhhhh my goodness.... I can't believe this is actually happening.......
Ateague, goooooood luck dear, it's such a crazy feeling!
Do you have everything ready?

Oh that's great!  Try not to get over-anxious, you can be dilated for several days/weeks before you ever give birth, but hopefully you're about to go now!  I'm right there with you, I turned 37 weeks yesterday and doc says he might induce next Friday which would be fine with me.  He's a little worried about my blood-pressure, so that's why he wants to maybe go sooner than let me go on my own.  I'm so happy for you and the baby, let us know what happens.
