Thankyou so much to everyone who's responded :) I really appreciate your advice.
Yeah, I think the mistake I made was taking the tampon out straight away after I'd put it in, so obviously it hadn't had enough time to uh, get wet, kinda thing lol. That's probably why it hurt like hell! And the fact that I probably wasn't as relaxed as I thought. Putting the applicator in was okay because it was plastic so it slid in and out quite comfortably after I'd got used to it.
Also, I didn't even realise you could get different sizes! haha, shows how much I know! I will definitely have a good look at them when I buy them next, smaller ones may be easier to start with.
Thankyou again!
Yeah, I agree. I like Tampax pearls. They are the most comfortable and some of them smell really good (scented ones). The cardboard ones hurt me while going in. Yeah, if you are just practicing with the tampons, I wouldn't stick the actual tampon in becuase it does hurt a lot when you take it out like 2 mins after u put it in. I remember when I was getting used to them, I put one in, but it felt like it wasnt in the right place. So, I took it out and tried a new one. OMG let me tell you. lol. OWWW. I would say that if the pain is untollerable for you to continue to practice until you feel comfortable with them, wait unitl you start your period and give it a shot. Good luck...
I'm adding to what's already been said. It hurts if you try to pull it out right after you put it in. It's always uncomfortable to take out when it's dry. As the others commented there are diffrent sizes for diffrent flows (some brands sell mix ones in one box). Also I think the plastic applicotor is easier.
Fourpaws it right, if its dry it is hard to get out. When it is full it comes out no problem. Good luck.
It will hurt more if the tampon is not fully saturated. (I know hard to tell sometimes, but you'll get it) Try using the smallest ones, I use the ultra slim ones. It will help to relax right before you pull it out. Take a deep breath and pull it out while exhaling, it will help, if your tense it can seem like they won't budge! But be patient, you'll get the hang of it. It took me a while too!
That is something you have to get used to and it can take awhile. Try differant sizes and differant brands. There is a chance that it will just take some adjusting to.
