Sudden Pain

My 15 yr. old daughter had blood in her urine.  I took her to the doctor and they took a urine sample and prescribed Bactrim for three days.  She took Bactrim for 2 days, had a urine culture and they found no blood, bacteria or infection.  She is still having horrible pain in her right side, it comes on all of a sudden, lasts for several minutes and then eases. She will go with no pain for as long as a couple of days...and then have a sudden onset.  Our doctor had her straining her urine to check for kidney stones.  We found only mucous, nothing that looked like a stone.  It's been over a week since she had the antibiotic, and exactly a week since she had the urine culture that came back clean.  Why is she having this pain?  And what could it be?  What test should we request?

Thank you!

I'm sorry she is hurting like this. I had the same thing a few years back. I would hurt so bad in my right side, felt like someone was sticking a knife in me and twisting it, that I would double over in pain and just cry until it was gone. I went to 5 different drs and the couldn't find anything wrong. Then in 2003 I had Lapascopy, which they made a little incision underneath my belly button and used a laser to see what was wrong. Come to find out I had an Enlarged Colon, ( basically they said I was full of ****) lol. but now, I take some medicine to help it. I take it once a day every day and it helps to 'move' my BM ( sorry to be graphic) makes it a lot easier to go and I don't have the pain anymore, unless I don't take the medicine for a couple of days. Hope that helps you some.  I would take her to the dr and see if they could run a test on her to see about her colon.
