Hello,
I am 21 years old, sexually active and in a monogamous relationship. I developed a yeast infection towards the last days of my period. My usual treatment of cream failed to work as the infection was internal and not around the vulva. I purchased a pessary that dispensed cream inside to treat the infection. It worked. The swelling of the vaginal walls went down and my yeast infection is gone. But I felt for the first time my cervix lying on my right lateral wall, about 4inches in. It feels hard. At first, I did not know what it was and assumed it to be a cyst. I went to see the doctor at my schools health center. She said it was just my cervix and dismissed me. But I also feel a slight pressure and discomfort in the right side of my crotch, like an internal bruise. It has been a week since I used the pessary. Certainly, the swelling must have gone down and the cervix wouldve retreated by now? Is this normal? Is my cervix just swollen because of the yeast infection? Do I need to take antibiotics? I am worried because I have never felt my cervix so low before. Please help ease my mind!
Thanks!
