Laparoscopy Necessary?

Hi, I have had severe leg paresthesias & head paresthesias for 6 months now with numerous tests done with no answers...last periods have gotten more painful with bladder and cramps...sent to OBGYN today, who suspects endometrosis and possibly causing my leg weakness, wants to do laparoscopy, I am very afraid of surgery even minor if that's the case...Is this procedure necessary if I had a normal pelvic mri? shouldn't I get a pelivic ultrasound first? Would that show endometrosis?

Very scared
appreaciate help

Thank you for sharing. I suppose even if they don't find that, other findings are always a possiblity. A tiny bit of hope I had that ultrasound would be enough, but you are right...this is something that is important even if endometrosis is ruled out. My uterus is very retroverted, almost hitting the SI Joint.

take care

Actually the MRI wouldn't show it nor would the ultrasound. The only way to find it is the surgery.A Couple of months ago I had the surgery done to find out If I had endomitriosis. fortunately for me I didn't have it but unfortunately they found that my right ovary has fused to my abdominal wall thanks to scar tissue. It's a day surgery and it would be well worth it especially if they do find it they can treat you and you wouldn't be in so much pain.
