Unusual cycle. ....

So, over the weekend I experienced really brown discharge; Friday evening and sunday morning. But, a couple hours later on sunday I started my cycle and it was bright red. It only lasted 2 and half days and normally last 4-5 days. Light cramps. Is that normal? Cause it wasn't for me.
