weight loss

I have gained over 100 pounds in the last five years since my husband's death and want to have the lap band surgery.  I have been told that I need to lose 20 pounds on my own first.  Does anyone here know of an online pharmacy left where you can get a one time prescription for phentermine.  I feel like that is my only hope.

Thanks so much.

Well, I think that you are strong enough to lose 20 pounds yourself without diet pills. Do not think that you cannot do this on your own. Believe yourself. I think that simple diet and exercise can be enough for you to lose weight. When you lose weight, you will be proud for yourself that you did it yourself without a help of different weight loss supplements. Good luck!

Monkeyflower has some great ideas!!!!  One little trick I use is to not eat after 7 pm.  Calories that you take in at night won't get burned off as easily as the calories you eat during the day.  Also, drink lots of water.  And when I want a "treat" I'll have decaf coffee with skim milk and splenda.  It's hot and tastes sweet so somehow I feel like I'm having something filling.

I don't know anything about online pharmacies. I just wanted to say that I bet you really can lose this weight on your own. I bet you could make some simple shifts that would painlessly cut lots of calories from your diet:

Cut out all regular soda: either drink water, iced tea (if you prefer sweet, use Splenda or whatever, not sugar), or diet sodas.
No half-and-half in your coffee--skim milk only.
Cut out alcohol--TONS of calories.
Get rid of the sugar in your house, and replace it with Splenda or Equal.
Switch from white bread to whole grains.
When you make a sandwich, make it open faced--saves a whole slice of bread, but you still have the same number of bites/feel of a whole sandwich.
Switch to light/fat free versions of things you feel you can't live without.
Eat lots of veggies and fruit.
Don't bring ANY junk food into the house. If it's not there, you won't eat it.
If you HAVE to have something sweet, buy light, fat-free ice cream. The stuff I buy has 70 calories per 1/2 cup and no fat.
Cut out all fast food, except things like Subway (choose from the 6 grams of fat or less menu--remember, no mayo, no cheese).
Don't fry your food. Ever.
Think about fat and calories and read labels religiously.
Keep a food journal--write down every single bite you take, no matter how trivial (a bite of someone's cookie, a grape, everything).
Exercise; you even can do simple things, like park at the end of the parking lot, rather than next to the entrance. Take stairs instead of escalators/elevators when you can. You'll be surprised at how many calories you can burn, and how much better you'll feel.

I know all of this sounds annoying, but you'll get used to it. Seriously. It's not so bad. You'll lose weight, and be MUCH healthier!
