LORD HAVE MERCY.....that has to be awful. I don't know. I've never experienced it but I can't imagine it's something serious....maybe it's a hormonal thing. You know your body wanting to procreate?
I DON'T KNOW. I WENT TO 4 DIFFERENT DOCTORS AND THEY COULD NOT HELP ME.
I bet hormonal. Are you pregnant, how far along are you?
I have exactly the same thing. It is a dull ache. I just assummed it was similar to what men call "blue balls" sorry TMI<.
I think it is the blood rush to the area. Mine is relieved only after orgasm. So I still have intercourse, it isn't excruciating pain, then I have the orgasm and it's gone. Very weird. You don't have endometriosis do you? Do you regularly orgasm?
I don't have endometriosis. And I regularly orgasm. And you right once I orgasm the pain is gone. I am trying to get pregnant (I had done 3 IVFs and I misscaried at 16w and 8w and did not get pregnant last time)and when I was pregnant and getting aroused and had pain I am afraid it was hurting my pregnency. I did all kind of tests including laparoscopy and doctors still do not know what causing it.
I am not sure if you'll get back to read this post again, but I just wanted to say this is very weird. I BD last night and again had the same pain. Does it feel achy around the vagina, very low, like almost the sides of your legs ( the major labia)? Or deeper inside? Everytime I ask the doctor he says its normal arousal blood flow. It just doesn't seem to normal to have that much pain. And I don't know anyone else who has it. Unless they just don't talk about it. I had two kids with no problems even with this pain, so it didn't affect them. Good Luck and keep me posted if you ever hear anything else! I do have adenomyosis and endo, but the dr. said it isn't related.
I am eight weeks pregnant (first pregnancy) and for the last two weeks have been experiencing the exact same pain upon arousal. I have also decribed it as "blue balls" when talking to my husband about it. It is definitely deep inside, like horrible cramps all over. I have tried to totally avoid arousal as I was worried about the effect on the baby. I am glad to know that the pain will subside upon orgasm and that others have experienced the same issue with healthy babies. Will this last the entire pregnancy or does it get better after the first trimester?
I am so relieved that I am not alone on this situation. I am 34 years old and started having this pain about 3 years ago after my last pregnancy. I have discussed this with my doctor and they just seem not to know how to diagnose this strange pain. Mine is definitely during the arousal time, but the more I am aroused it gets stronger and then subsides but the pain is very dull and achy around my labia. its almost like its the muscles around it and it totally gets me out mood. It is very frustrating I pray that research is in the making..Good luck to you women I FEEL YOUR PAIN...:)
I have this exact same thing and it has absolutely nothing to do with being pregnant, I am a gay woman so unless I got abducted by space aliens per that scenariop otherwise not possible. The more aroused I get the harder and less sensation I have in my clitoris and the muscles in the pubic area feels very tight and constricted, I am in excellent physical condition otherwise, zero circulation problems... quite the contrary, post menopausal with Bio-identical hormone replacement. I will be having this assessed next week
I am 36 and have been having the same pain for about 4 years now. it seems to get worst as time passes. My guess is there is some malfunction with the glands in the vagina, but all I can find on that are cyst problems and I know I don't have any. Did anyone get any answers?

It's so relieving to hear of others w/ this... I've been really concerned. My pain feels like a deep ache in the labia, inside, and clitoris and has always been relieved by orgasm till one instance recently when it worsened after intercourse and was almost unbearable. Then during an arousing dream the pain woke me up and was awful too. Thankfully, things seem better today but I still don't know what it is. Much like others mine came on a couple years after my first child was born. Both children were by c-section delivery though no pushing. I was thinking tonight maybe it's a nerve thing from compression during pregnancy??? Just a thought. I do also have severely poor circulation too and have had numerous issues pretty much throughout my body from it - so who knows? Gonna see my GYN soon to discuss it. Good luck all!
Has anyone had a hystorectomy and found relief? That is what my wife's doctor is recommending. She also suffers from endometriosis.
Okay guys, I have the answer but it isn't something you'll want to hear! I know what pain you're talking about because it started, for me, right during/after my first pregnancy. Doctor initally called it endometriosis which is what I went with until after my third child. The pain is VERY bad during pregnancy and is because of the blood flow to all your wonderful lady parts. One day I lucked out and went to see my gyno when I was having the EXACT "Blue Balls" feeling and--are you ready for this?--he was shocked and immediately able to CORRECTLY diagnose this:
Ladies, I have varicose veins. In my vaginal area. He said he hadn't seen them before, even though I'd been having the pain for years, because I have never seen him WHILE in pain. If you have varicose veins anywhere else (like the legs) you'll know the exact deep aching un-ignorable pain that it causes... and that it's the exact same horrible pain in your crotch/upper-inner thighs.
The worst part? They can't do anything for me until I'm done having children... which is who knows when. And it's very difficult to diagnose unless you're in the midst of the pain because, frankly, who wants to see your OB when you've got all that blood flow to your groin in the first place?
Hope this helps!!!
I'm 16 and a virgin and I get this pain. It's an ache around the labia minora, clitoris and low in my vagina. I also described it as "blue balls" and mine actually goes away if I stimulate the area. I don't have to orgasm for it to recede, I have obviously never had children and I've been cleared for endometriosis but my pain seems very similar to that which has been described here. Is mine different? is it even possible for it to be varicose veins ?
Hi,
I am 33 yrs and got married two yrs back. I'm trying to get pregnant for 4 months.. This month I was hoping to get pregnant so my hubby didn't take any chance to hurt my pregnancy and we abstrain from sex for 20 days. But yesterday we found negative test results and now today I suddenly feel a sharp pain in my vagina from deeply when I got aroused.. I don't know what's going on. I'm very tensed. First I'm not getting pregnant and now this pain
So here I am researching my vaginal pain and I'm glad to know I'm not the only one even though this whole thing *****!! This happened during my last trimester and after my pregnancy, every time I get aroused deep within my vagina would start paining and as I climax it gets worse. It feel like all the muscles are cramping and pushing towards my opening, sometimes it sends a sharp pain to my anus. I don't think that it is normal and I have no idea what to do beside calling my DR. It's been 2 1/2 yrs!
Now that I read your updated response about the varicose veins I do believe that's true because I have a few on my legs. I'll take your advice and go see my DR. when I'm having one these pains. Thanks for the help!
I'm 21, a virgin and and have never experienced this up until this following weekend. I'm currently getting Depo Provera shots due to iron efficiency and nearing my next injection. I have had self-induced orgasms before, but the arousal that comes from the desire beforehand has never caused any sort of discomfort. However, when the arousal is stimulated from my boyfriend this time around, there is a sort of pressure along my lower left abdomen, right above my inner thigh. This was caused by foreplay and never occurred again unless I was aroused later on. I have had on and off cramps as well despite not being anywhere near my cycle. Not excruciating, but rather uncomfortable. I don't have any sort of vaginal pain, even sensual foreplay wasn't painful within the vaginal region, only in my lower abdomen before and after. I decided to see if having a self-induced orgasm may help, but no luck. There is still a sort of pressure. Should I have this checked out?
Sharp pain in my lower abdomen and vaginal area. I spoke to my doctor and she mentioned that sometimes your cervix might be very low and that might cause pulling of the muscles. She recommended cagels vaginal excecise or a pesary in extreme cases.
I have this same thing. It is an achy, and stabbing sensation as though my body is struggling to lubricate. I am 29, and I have never had an orgasm, so the only thing that helps is ceasing sexual activity. Do any of you have other circulatory problems? Like a family history of hemorrhoids? I would really like to figure this out. It only happens about half the time my husband and I are having sex, but it's enough to be extremely frustrating!
I'm 18 and not sexually active. I have the same problem, when I get aroused it hurts and there is pain on my butt too. It's super strange, I hate it so much! Wtf it sucks to force yourself not to be aroused because it's painful to be.
I went thru this in 30's. It is a muscle in vagina & just like men get blue balls from, arousal & no release, so women feel similar thing. That's my common sense answer. Look at our physiology ... It makes sense,
It's basically increased blood flow to the area. Eating a lot of soy can cause this. So can varicose veins, but that's much more likely if you're pregnant. If you eat soy (tofu, edamame, tempeh, all forms), you might try cutting that out of your diet for two weeks and see if it helps.
So this thread has been open for 12 years now, has anyone found an answer?
I have the same problem with internal cramp, almost as I'm 'Letting down' my lubrication! The blood flow seems the most likely cause but how can we remedy it?
I didn't have it for about 6 years of being sexually active then all of a sudden I changed and have now had it mildly for another 6 years.
Any answers appreciated.
