Pains in both breasts

Hi, I am 76 and have dense breasts.   My last mammogram was in 2022 & it was normal.  I had a benign cyst removed about 15 years ago.  In 2009 during an emergency sugery for a giant hernia rupture, they had to make a large incision under my left breast.  They severed a lot of nerve endings and nicked my spleen, which they had to then repaid.  Latley it has been very sensitive and painful to wear my bra so I have stopped wearing one. I am 5ft 1.5 ' tall and weigh 124 pounds but I have always had large breast for my size.  I take a 38DD size. I am wondering if the lack of support for my breasts may be causing my pain. I had two siblings die from cancer but it originated in their lungs.  I gave up smoking in the 1960s,  so I don't think that is my problem.  Just wonderng what else may be causing the pain and whether I should have it checkd.  Thank you.

Caffeine can make breasts sensitive; if you've upped your intake lately that might be having an effect. But so can going braless. Try a bra developed for running -- they make some with a lot of support (some are even sold as "minimizing" bras) that are nonetheless soft (i.e., no underwires) and very comfortable. I got one recently and love it. Google "sports bras" or "minimizing sports bras" and you might find some good selections even in a 38DD.

I only have maybe two coffee a day, so don't think that's it.  But I thank you for your advice and will try to find a suitable  bra that is comfortable and still gives me support.  It's just finding a suitable one. I am waiting for a right hip replacement and walking anywhere is agony.  The date is Feb 20, 2024.  Thanks so very much and Merry Christmas.
I got mine online. There's almost no point looking in person at the shops available to me for a specialty item like this. It was actually easy online.
I got one by Bali, called a "Minimizer bra, wirefree, ultimate lift, true support." It was more like a bra, with adjustable straps. But the one that was most comfortable and surprisingly the most supportive, was by a company called Truekind, which makes a bra called the "Shapermint everyday throw-on wireless bralette." Calling it a bralette makes it sound flimsy, but it's more like a running bra, grasping the body snugly but not uncomfortably, with no poking hardware. The bottom band is very wide, which would help where you have the scar tissue. I started wearing pull-on bras for my exercise classes and have hardly ever worn the more formal kind since. Good luck, as I said, these are available online so you don't have to go anywhere to buy one.
