Pap Smear Update

This is another update.  I am having doubts for my gyn and want to consult this forum for further options.  I had an abnormal pap smear: the lab found precancerous cells on my cervix.  Then I had a colposcopy and a biopsy done (really crampy) and the result showed precancerous cells found in endocervix, not cancer.  My diagnose was low-grade dysplasia.  My doctor said she saw some small white areas after applying the aceto.  HOWEVER, I wonder how can it be low-grade if precancerous cells have reached to the endocervix???  I'm afraid if precancer appeared in endocervix, there is a higher chance of turning into cancer.  In addition, she did not recommend any treatment but ask me to repeat a pap smear next summer.  Isn't it too late?  Do I have options if I want treatment?

I had an abnormal pap, had a colposcopy and biopsy and my Dr. gave me the option of waiting to see if it got better on it's own or having it treated.  Regardless I was told I would need to go back every 3 months till I cleared so many paps and then 6 months, and then yearly.  I did go ahead and do cryotherapy, but between my pap and the colposcopy which was a week or so later, I also developed polyps on my cervix that weren't there, my Dr. did mention that it was fast to have them grow like that.  I did take the cryotherapy, 2 rounds, and it did all get cleared.  I have been clear since then.  I guess I would call your Dr. and let them know you are uncomfortable and would like to get in earlier or at least talk with them more in depth, maybe it's not so bad and they just want to see you in 6 months.  Couldn't hurt to talk with them, you don't want to be on eggshells for the next 6 months.  It does sound worse than it is usually though, good luck.

I forgot to mention that I had a yeast infection after the colposcopy.  Is it normal?  Actually I'm still having it...burning...
