I went to see my GP this morning and he just seemed a bit baffled with my case. We went through all the questions and he just sort of looked at me like I'd grown a second head. But in the end he put me on "Norethisterone" and I'm to take one 3 times a day for ten days. I've reread the leaflet several times and it says that it's also good if you suffer from "Endometriosis". If this trial doesn't work then I have to go back for blood tests and if nothing comes back from that I don't know what I'll do; I don't really want to go on the pill cos I don't need it, but if this doesn't work then I shall be asking you all some more questions. If not by then any input you all have would be very welcome as it might come in handy later on.
Did the 10 days of Provera...no help. Doc gave me a hormone shot on Wednesday of last week and told me to stay off from work the rest of the week to give it a better chance to work since I work nights and am on my feet all night. This is Monday and it still hasn't stopped, although it's showing signs of slowing down. This is so frustrating! Thinking about investing in a bottle of Krazy Glue and a cork.
So relieved to know I am not alone. Going into my 5th week of a period this time, sometimes it lasts 2/3 weeks then stops for 2/3 weeks, sometimes longer, I dont know where I am, can never just go out 'unprotected' its so depressing. My stomach is bloated, I've put on half a stone and I also have a whooshing noise in my ears....like when you put a shell against it and hear the sea?.
I was thinking it might just be an age thing, I'm 47.
Going to the doctors next week.
Did the Provera, took the hormone shot. Now I'm on generic Ortho-Tricyclen. Starting my third month of this, and am getting very frustrated, depressed, and aggravated. Lethargic, disgusted with how I feel all the time. Tired when I go to bed, tired when I get up. Exhausted at work and can't afford to miss because I'm divorced and footing all my bills alone. (Complainer's Corner is over here, by the way. LOL)
And, Gaiill, the "whooshing" sound you hear is classic of tinnitus, another symptom of menopause. Got that one, too. Sometimes I can barely hear myself think over the noise, or that's how it seems, anyway.
I always heard that you started falling apart at 40. I must have been a 'late-bloomer'. I didn't start falling apart 'til 45. But I'm making up for lost time, now, boy.
Ive been on NuvaRing for 3 months now and my gyno told me i could keep it in for the 4 weeks and change it after bc there was no point in me having a period right now. About 2 weeks ago i started to get a light brown discharge and now it has gotten darker, but its not heavy until i work out, and doesnt hurt and im not haveing cramps or bloating. is this normal since i dont have my period monthly?
