Could I be pregnant? What is going on with my menstrual cycle?

Something weird is going on with my period, and I am wondering if I might be pregnant. Here is the situation, with dates:

Sunday, June 9: I stopped taking birth control (Microgestin). I was just finishing a period, after three weeks of the pill. I would take the active pills for three weeks, and during the fourth week, I did nothing. (There were no placebo pills.)

Friday, June 14: I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend.

Sunday, June 30: I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend.

Tuesday, July 2: I had a period that lasted about 4 or 5 days.

Tuesday, July 23: I had a period that lasted about 4 or 5 days. I was concerned about having 2 periods in one month, so I took a over-the-counter urine test. It was negative. (I did take it in the afternoon, though, and not the morning.)

Saturday, August 24: My period started, 4 days late, and then lasted for 2 days.

I have gained a few pounds. Mainly, my belly is bigger. I feel very bloated, and my breasts seem to be bigger. A couple of nights ago, I had some nausea, and I am suffering some stomach discomfort.

Could it just be that my hormones are screwy after getting off of birth control pills? Anybody else had any sort of similar experience and ended up being pregnant?

I think it is your hormones trying to regulate after stopping the pill. It can take a few months for everything to straighten out. I don't think you are pregnant but if you feel otherwise ask your doctor for a blood test. I truly feel its just everything starting to adjust from not taking the pill though.

I've learned that period and bodies can do some strange things. I worried about a month ago I was pregnant. I had so many symptoms but I wasn't. Id go to your local health department and get a blood pregnancy test if I were you just to be on the safe side. God bless and good luck!

You had two periods that were normal in length, so I'm doubting you were pregnant unless there were any other episodes of unprotected sex between July 23 and August 24, it's highly unlikely you are pregnant.  You could always test in the morning if you're uncertain, but I am doubting you would et a positive test and would peg this on hormones.
