Hi. I am 45-years old and pre-menopausal. Yesterday I went for an annual pap smear. When the NP visualized my cervix, she said that I had abnormal prominent blood vessels on my cervix and needed a colposcopy. I have never had an abnormal Pap smear. I have had back problems for a few years...(thought it was my back, but maybe not) I have very heavy periods with big clots lately, getting steadily worse, but no other problems that I can think of. The NP said to wait and see what the Pap said, and then she would do a colposcopy and look at the cervix and do a biopsy. Does anyone have any input on this? Has anyone out there ever been told this? Please help...
