I work in Homewood, but live in Pelham.
try going on bc to regulate ur period
If you are worried about your irregular periods, you might request being put on birth control pills. I was on birth control pills when I was 14 because of irregular periods and stayed on for 10 years (18 weeks pregnant now with 1st child). This doesn't mean you're sexually active when you go on them either, I didn't lose my virginity until 19 when I started on bcp. They helped me regulate and lessened my PMS symptoms. The nipple thing, I would definately talk to your gynecologist about it. They specialize in women's health, they will have some suggestions. Don't be afraid of the doctor, all they do all day is help women, they've seen millions of women a year, and I promise you're probably nothing different that they haven't already seen. Don't fret, all will be ok.
ok, I am a virgin but all the symptoms are so weird so I'm freaked!Like I thought your nipples didn't split unless you were breastfeeding ot something
Thank you ereryone :)
Ha I know, I'm so paranoid
anyone else?
and also was the 3 day period really my period?
What do you think?
Take a deep breath and calm down. It will be okay. :-)
You're going to the doctor's today - that's great! Very wise of you and I commend you!
I'm a bit confused by your post because you're writing very fast and jumbled, but here's what I have to offer:
Nausea, cramps, bloating, and sore breasts are all common symptoms of PMS. Every woman gets at least some, if not all, of those symptoms at some point in her life. It's normal. It sucks, but it's normal.
Regarding the crack in your nipple, I am not sure. Does it hurt, does it bleed, does it have any discharge? Without more detail it's very difficult for us to comment on.
If you have not had sex then you cannot be pregnant. I don't know if that was a question you were trying to ask or not, but I just wanted to confirm that it's not possible. It's not uncommon AT ALL for someone of your age to be experiencing irregular periods. Your hormones are still adjusting, so you're not weird.
As far as your appointment today, they will take good care of you. They will talk to you first and see what your problems are. You should consider making a list of all your questions before you get there so you don't forget anything. Then they will perform the actual physical exam. It's uncomfortable, but brief.
I hope this helps! Good luck to you!
"and also was the 3 day period really my period?"
Probably. Did you bleed enough to soak some pads/tampons? Or only enough to put some spots on a pantyliner? There are women who have short periods like this, and it's normal for them. Count your blessings that it's not 7-8 days like mine! :-)
Ok thank you. Sorry I didn't explain myself very well.
There is white stuff coming out of one nipple but it only happens sometimes, it's not liquid or anything.
Ok so after I explain the symptoms what do they do, do they check in there? What is the test like?
Yes for 3 days I had to wear a pad, it was enough but not a lot
What do you mean that the discharge from your nipple is not liquid? What is it then?
As for the actual physical exam, yes they do check "in there". They use a small tool, called a speculum, to take a look at your cervix. They use a swab, that looks like a big q-tip, to take a sample and then they use this tiny little brush to gently scrape a few cells off of your cervix. They test these cells to check for cancer. Then they remove the speculum. It takes all of about 60 seconds for that part. The doctor will then insert a finger and press on your lower stomach at the same time to feel your uterus and make sure it's normal. That takes all of about 10 seconds.
It's not something I love to get done, but it's brief. It's one of those necessary evils.
"Yes for 3 days I had to wear a pad, it was enough but not a lot"
Yes, this was probably your period. Be happy it was so short! :-)
I am confused. Are you a virgin? If you are just worried about irregular periods then that could be due to stress. It sounds like you have every reason to be under alot of stress. Let us know what the doc says though.
Ok, so do they do that even if you aren't 18 and not sexually active?
About the liquid thing, it's hard to explain, it's like white paper sort of, it's not liquid and it's a little solid, agh it's hard to explain, like if I start stcratching it sort of white dots come out.
Yes, they prescribe bcp even if you are not sexually active. Birth control pills are not only for birth control, in fact I never used them for that purpose, ever. I always used condoms with bcp, I never trusted the fact that I couldn't see them working like I could a condom.
Is it possible it could just be line in your nipple, it's happened to me lots of times. I think this question is best left for your gynecologist. It's possibly it is milk, some women produce it eventhough they're not pregnant.
Well, since you're making an appointment because there's a "problem" then, yes, I assume he'll complete a full physical exam. Especially if you are going to get put on birth control to help regulate your periods, and since you're only 1 year +/-away from being 18.
As far as the white stuff from your nipple, it actually sounds more like dry skin sluffing off. If it doesn't hurt and there's no blood or discharge, then it doesn't sound like an infection. I'm not sure though.
You are not the only one worried about a "beat" in their stomach. I remember someone posting something very similar to yours a few months back. Maybe check the archives and see what happened with her.
Clarification: I meant "lint in your nipple" not line in your nipple.
If I dont put lotion on.. my nipples will some times crack & it can be painful.. Hope everything goes ok.
--hijack of the post for a second---
Gonza, I'm glad to see you back. Haven't seen you in a few days.
Just wanted to let you know I missed your posts...
thanks, i dont post here that much anymore. I do remember you b/c you are also in Birmingham.
Did I ever ask you what part of Bham you are in?
Oh and I also forgot something else.
I feel like a beat in my stomach and I can see my stomach move with the beat and when I lay down, is this normal?
Oh and by the way I'm not sexually active but I'm so paranoid about everything.
