Weird pains

I have had sore breasts for 3-4 months and it seems like they are always sore. :( I get pain in my underarm areas..my arm pit and lower between my elbow and my armpit..could this be from hormones?? The pain is not severe.

My breasts were not sore yesterday or today. I got my period again this month. I think I am going through  perimenopause. I had a surgeon feel my breasts he says they are lumpy breasts. He thinks it's hormonal.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
There are many causes of soreness of breasts, premenstrual syndrome and pregnancy being one of them.Other important causes are fibrocystic breast disease, ductal ectasia, mastitis(inflammation of breasts),galactoceles, benign and malignant pathologies of breasts, referred pain from liver or musculoskeletal system, arthritis of the ribs, costsochondritis and inflammation or sprain of pectoralis muscle.

I feel that an examination by a gynecologist will be the best.Till that time, apply some warm compresses on the breasts and take some over the counter pain reliever(analgesic) like ibuprofen or diclofenac.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

I am 40 and yes I had a mammorgram. They found a cluster of microcalcifications in my right breast. They are thinking it is benign.

Last month they did not hurt for about 3 weeks or so, but then when I got my period they started hurting again..Its been 2 weeks past my period and I guess now they arent hurting as much..maybe my body is just trying to get used to me getting older (perimenopause??)

The doctors don't seem too concerned, but I havent told them about my arms hurting, I will on Friday when I see my regular doctor. Or I might call my obgyn and see what they say. Thanks for your reply

How old are you? Are you pregnant? Recently BEEN pregnant? Breastfeeding? Just stopped breastfeeding? Do your breasts usually get sore right before your periods? Is this soreness something you've never had before it began 3-4 months ago? When was your last mammogram?

Lots of questions that may or may not have any bearing on your symptoms. Sore breasts just before a period is very common. Sore breast for months is not. Pregnancy can wreck havoc with our breasts as can starting or stopping breasfeeding. Blocked milk ducts are not fun. But if there is no pregnancy stuff involved here, that rules out a lot of stuff.

I don't know what this could be. If it was me? I'd go see my OB/GYN. I'm not a hypochondriac but since this pain has lasted a few months and is not confined to just your breasts, it's definitely worth having checked out. It's well worth the expense for peace of mind. Something in very short supply these days.
I'm sure it's nothing serious.
Keep me posted, OK?
Peace
