Throat hurts too much
it hurts to swallow, or talk for the most part. It's not like most that I have had in the past. The pain is much worse and only based in one area of the throat, pretty much close to the site that I had a traceotomy. I don't know what to do, my doctor is on holdiays. And I don't have anyone else that I go to. What can I do to ease the pain?
Nalla's right, could be strep. Or it could be tonsillitis. You should play around with this. You need to contact someone or go to the ER and have them look if your doctors doesn't have any partners. Good Luck!
Are you running a fever? When you look at your throat do you see little white bumps? If so you might have strep throat. (you can have that without a fever).
Try gargling with half hot water and half hydrogen peroxide or one-quarter teaspoon salt to one cup of warm water several times a day will help relieve the pain.
If you think you might have strep you will need antibiotics to clear it up. If your Dr. is gone they usually have a partner or somebody else in the clinic that should be able to see you. You don't necessaraly need to see your primary care Dr. for throat problems.
